Biography
Dr. Alessandra Ammazzalorso graduated with honors from G. d’Annunzio University, Chieti (Italy) and received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same University. Since 2004 she is Assistant Professor at Pharmacy Department, University of Chieti.
Research Area
Her research interests include the synthesis and characterization of small molecules endowed with biological activity. In details, her studies are focused on compounds targeting Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptors, with the aim to discover novel PPAR agonists and antagonists, with a special attention to the antitumor potential of such ligands. She is also involved in the identification of novel inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase, aromatase, and carbonic anhydrase.
